Plantain syrup for dry cough


A dry cough in a child can hinder fun, food and even sleep. It is often the result of an infection that has ended or points to a health problem that is just developing. How to deal with it? One of the ways is plantain syrup.

Plantain for cough

Plantain is a well-known plant in Poland. Occurs in meadows, wasteland, small lawns, roadside. It doesn't have big requirements, it grows well on weak soil, it's not afraid of high temperature and drought.

Lancet cake is also known as plantain It usually blooms from May to June. The leaves of the plant have healing properties. Research has confirmed that plantain leaves collected in July are the richest in composition. They contain the most tannins, flavonoids and polysaccharides. In addition, they are an important source of potassium, silicon, calcium, zinc and phosphorus.

Plantain is known for relieving dry cough, allows you to regenerate damaged mucosa and reduce discomfort caused by scratching in the throat.

How to prepare cough syrup for plantain?

  1. Plantain leaves should be collected outside the city, in a place away from the streets.
  2. For a harvest day, choose a warm, sunny day.
  3. After collecting, wash the leaves and spread them smoothly (not one on top of the other) on paper.
  4. After about an hour, chop the leaves and throw in layers into a brewed jar, translating the layers of sugar with leaves.
  5. We turn off the jar and set aside in a warm place for 10 days.
  6. Every day we open the jar and whisk its contents.
  7. After about 10 days, juice will be made in a jar - plantain syrup.
  8. The syrup is strained through gauze.
  9. We serve a teaspoon three times a day.
